Common questions

What is a preflop range chart?
A preflop range chart is a 13x13 grid of every starting hand that shows how often to raise, call, or fold from a given position. Cells are colored by frequency, so you can read a whole position's opening range at a glance.
What does RFI mean in poker?
RFI stands for raise first in: it is your opening range when everyone has folded to you and you are first to enter the pot. It is a raise-or-fold decision, so an RFI chart shows the hands you open and the hands you fold, with no calling.
How do I read a preflop chart?
Pick your position and the action you face, then find your hand in the grid. Suited hands sit above the diagonal, offsuit hands below, and pairs on the diagonal. The cell color and the inspector show how often to raise, call, or fold.
What do the positions UTG, HJ, CO, and BTN mean?
They are seats relative to the dealer button. UTG is under the gun, first to act preflop; HJ is the hijack and CO is the cutoff, the two seats before the button; BTN is the button, the best position. Later positions open a wider range.
